Content Writing
There is no shortage of content on the internet. There is a considerable shortage of content worth reading.
We write for UK businesses that want pages people actually finish — clear, specific, and written by someone who understood the subject before they started typing.
What we write
Website copy
Homepages, service pages and about pages. The pages that decide whether someone contacts you or goes back to Google. Most business websites explain what a company does without ever explaining why anyone should care, and that is usually the difference between a page that converts and one that does not.
Blog articles
Written to answer questions your customers are actually asking. Properly researched, structured for both readers and search engines, and long enough to be useful rather than long enough to hit a word count.
Product and category descriptions
For e-commerce sites where the manufacturer's copy appears on two hundred other sites and Google has quietly stopped ranking any of them.
Landing pages
For ad campaigns and specific offers, where every paragraph either moves someone closer to converting or gets cut.
Comparison and review content
Buying guides, comparison tables and review articles. This is what we write most on our own affiliate sites, so it is the format we know best.
Case studies
Turning finished projects into something you can send to prospects. Usually the highest-converting content on a site, and usually the thing nobody gets around to writing.
How we write
We learn the subject first
We ask questions before we start. What you actually sell, who buys it, what objections come up, what competitors get wrong. Content written without that is generic, and generic content is invisible.
We write for the reader, then optimise
Keywords matter, but a page written around a keyword reads like it was written around a keyword. We write something worth reading, then make sure it is structured properly — headings, internal links, title tags and meta description.
We use British English
Optimisation, organisation, colour, whilst. Currency in pounds, dates in the right order, and no American spelling slipping through. It sounds minor and it is not — it is one of the fastest ways for a UK reader to sense that a site was not written for them.
We are honest about AI
We use AI tools for research and outlines, the same way we use a search engine. We do not publish AI-generated text and hand it to you as writing. The difference is obvious to read and increasingly obvious to Google. If you want cheap bulk content, there are places that will sell it to you, and you will be redoing it within a year.
Why thin content hurts you
A common mistake is publishing many short pages to cover more keywords. It rarely works, and it often backfires.
Google assesses quality across your whole site. Fifteen pages of two hundred words each will typically perform worse than five pages of eight hundred words that genuinely answer something. The thin pages do not rank, and they drag down the pages that could have.
If you already have a site full of short pages, consolidating them is often the single highest-value piece of content work available. We do that too.
What you get
- Research and planning before writing starts
- Draft content with the option to revise
- SEO structure: headings, internal links, title tag and meta description
- Plagiarism-checked, original writing
- Delivered in a format you can paste straight into WordPress
- Two rounds of revisions included
Pricing
Per project or per piece, quoted after we see the brief. Longer, research-heavy content costs more than a straightforward service page, and we tell you which is which before you commit.
For ongoing work — a set number of articles each month — we offer a monthly rate that works out lower per piece.
Why Marktechsol
We run content and affiliate sites of our own. Those sites make money only when the content ranks and converts, which is a far more demanding test than a client signing off a draft.
It also means we have written a great deal of content that failed, and we have a reasonably good sense now of why.
